In my never-ending search for appropriate mineral make-up for women of color, I decided to try Philosophy The Supernatural. I've read great things about it on Afrobella, so I figure if it works for the 'Bella, it might work for me.
I stood in front of the display at Sephora, trying to figure out what shade would be best. I must have looked as confused as I felt because one of the salesladies offered to color match me. She decided that Rich is the best shade for me, so I bought it and brought it home. I tried it out the next day and I have to say that I like it. I don't love it, but it's good. It's much less messy than BareEscentuals and the like because, while it is in loose powder format, the jar has a powder puff attached to it, so the powder is absorbed into the puff and then rubbed onto your face. The instructions direct you to tap the puff onto your face to distribute the powder and then rub it in. I've found that doing it that way distributes too much powder and can leave you looking a bit ashen or cakey. What works for me is to tap the jar upside down a few times so that the powder goes up into the puff and then just rub the puff onto my face.
You can buy this on Sephora online or in Sephora stores for $35.
