MAC's New Collections: New View, Sonic Chic, and Electroflash (On Counters Tomorrow - 7/10!)
Really, there are few things in the beauty universe that make me happier than getting my hands on the new MAC collections. Yeah, I know that there's a new MAC collection just about every month, but that doesn't make it any less exciting for me!
So, how freakin' excited am I that there are not one, but three collections on counters tomorrow! Come on, y'all - let's all go broke together!!!
New View is a collection full of Mineralize Skinfinishes - duos comprised of a Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and a coordinating Shimmer MSF. Unfortunately, it doesn't come in all the colors available for the Natural MSFs, but the range that's offered is a good one and I think most of us will be able to find a suitable match for our skintones.
I've posted before about my love for the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and that love has not waned. I own both Medium Deep and Dark and use them as a fab foundation powder. They are so soft and silky and blend wonderfully into the skin. These little duos are to die for, as they combine the fabulosity of the MSF Natural with a coordinating shimmer product that you can use to highlight on cheekbones and browbones and anyplace else that you'd like a touch of glimmer. Pictured here is my shade: Dark/Natural and Shimmer.
Shades offered:
Light Medium/Natural and Shimmer: Pale golden beige/Warm yellow beige
Medium/Natural and Shimmer: Soft creamy beige/Light peachy pink
Medium Dark/Natural and Shimmer: Caramel/Light tan
Dark/Natural and Shimmer: Deep caramel/Mid-tone yellow gold
Deep Dark/Natural and Shimmer: Rich golden bronze/Deep copper bronze
Also included in this collection is the 189 Face Brush, which is a "rounded paddle face brush with chiselled shape on each side for effortless placement and blending of product."
Sonic Chic is my favorite of the three collections. Then again, I am unabashedly in love with blushes of all kinds. These are Mineralize Blushes in shades of pink, gold, bronze and red. They are designed to apply sheerly and you can build the color without it ever becoming heavy. They can be used on face, eyes or body.
Dainty: Light yellow pink with gold pearl
Warm Soul: Midtone beige with gold pearl
Nuance: Midtone peach with gold pearl
Gleeful: Deep dirty blue pink with gold pearl
Gentle: Raspberry wtih gold pearl
Love Joy: Warm midtone brown with gold pearl
Merrily: Midtone dirty (burned) red with gold pearl
Pleasantry: Intense midtone blue pink with gold pearl
Love Thing: Dirty burgundy with gold pearl
Also in the collection is the 181 Small Buffer Brush.
Electro Flash is a collection based primarily on the Mineralize Eye Shadows that previously made an appearance last year. New duos are offered, in addition to lipsticks and lipglasses. During the first go-round, I didn't really find myself in love with the Mineralize Eye Shadows, as I found many of the color pairings to be weird and the effect to be ultra-glittery, which I don't really care for. These color duos seem a bit more realistic for every day wear and the glitter seems to have been dialed down a bit, as well, though I can't say for sure until I try them.
Play on Plums: Peach gold with pink and bronze veining/Bronzed burgundy mono
Sea & Sky: Silvery pale blue with deep blue and silver veining/Bright blue mono (pictured)
Hot Contrast: Dirty red with silver and black veining/Black mono
Love Connection: Pale beige with gold and blue veining/Warm gold mono
Two to Glow: Dirty bronze with pink and orange veining/Orange mono
Odd Couple: Warm gold with lavendar and bronze veining/Purple mono
Polar Opposites: Dirty purple with silver, indigo and pink veining/True silver mono
Fresh Green Mix: Golden olive with blue, gold and aqua veining/Lime mono
Pink Split: Dirty rose with bronze and pale blue veining/Pink with gold pearl mono
Lipstick:
Vanity's Child: Sheer pale beige with pearl (lustre)
Fast Thrill: Frosty clean mid-tone pink with pearl (frost)
Mellow Mood: Glossy mid-tone dirty pink with pearl (lustre)
Dangerously Hot: Creamy deep brown red (amplified)
Lipglass:
Cultureclash: Frosty clear baby pink with multi-dimensional pearl
Major Minor: Frosty mid-tone beige with multi-dimensional pearl
Sonic Vibe: Frosty mid-tone pink with multi-dimensional pearl
Li' Hot Pepper: Frosty burnt red with multi-dimensional pearl
Also offered is the 227 Large Fluff brush - a large size paddle with fluffed double chiseled, round tip.
Look for upcoming FOTDs featuring the products from these three collections. And get yourself to the nearest MAC counter tomorrow to get this stuff before it's gone!!!

DROOL. WANT. NOW!
Speaking of new collections... I'm hearing a lot of buzz about the new Lancome collection - especially with the Elephant bronzer, which is rumored to work well with darker skin. Worth investigating?
