NYX Mosaic Blush in Love (Affordable Alternative to NARS Blush in Taj Mahal)
If you're a true beautynista, but you're a beauty booty lover on a budget, allow me to recommend NYX Cosmetics. NYX is a budget brand that can be found at large beauty supply stores, often the ones in the 'hood. If youre unable to find it in any of your local beauty supply stores, NYX Cosmetics are also available for purchase on Cherry Culture.com (where one of my favorite beauty bloggers, Vanessa, is a beauty expert). According to many beauty bloggers and beauty lovers, NYX products are comparable to higher-priced beauty brands. I particularly love the NYX Round Lipsticks, the Rouge Cream Blush and, the product I'm reviewing here - the NYX Mosaic Powder Blush.
I am in love with the NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Love. As a Black woman of medium complexion, a bright orange blush looks really nice on me - it also works for women of deeper hues, if you have a warm tone to your complexion. Previously, my favorite versions of the bright orange blush were CARGO blush in Laguna and NARS blush in Taj Mahal. I usually layer Laguna with a bronzer, but Taj Mahal I wore by itself because of its shimmer. I always loved the way it looked on me, that was, until I saw a picture of myself in broad daylight, wearing Taj Mahal (shudder). It's not that the blush is any less beautiful - I still love the shade. But really? The abundance of shimmer is just too much for the daytime, I think. It was way too bright and shiny. I'm thinking Taj Mahal is being relegated to my evening makeup wardrobe from now on. But now, what can I wear that will give me that wonderful orange shade and a touch of glow without exorbitant shimmer? The answer is NYX Mosaic Blush in Love. This blush contains five different shades of orange with just the tiniest hint of a glow. Yum! And at only $6.75, you can buy one of these blushes in every shade, if you like. I encourage you to do so.

Thanks so much for this review. I love makeup but unfortunately I can't afford to spend alot of money on the higher end cosmetics. I fell in love with NARS Taj Mahal, but not the price tag.
I'm definitely gonna pick this up and wear it as if it cost $25 (LOL)

Hey Dayon! You're a first time commenter, I think? If so, welcome! I'm glad that this review gave you a more affordable option for your beauty needs. I plan to do many more of these - either Affordable Alternatives to a popular high-end product or Beauty for a Bargain, where I point out beauty lines or products that do the job well for much less moola. I hope you continue to read The Life of A Ladybug and continue to comment. Oh, and Dayon? You better rock that blush!

I love NYX as well. NYX Mosiac in Dare is great for NC35-40 skin.

hey i was wondering how similar is love to taj mahal? and does love have ant shimmer?

Hi Gabby! Thanks for your question. It's similar in that they're both orange blushes, but Love is deeper, if that makes sense. Love does have a bit of shimmer (or glow), but nowhere near the amount of shimmer that Taj Mahal does.

Hey thanks for answering my question. You said love is deeper so im wondering if love will look good on me like taj mahal did. I do love Nars blushes and products but I am willing to try different brands. I'm medium brown in complexion and i don't know if love is too dark? I see there are different shades of pink or orange? I would appreciate your opinion. thanks!

Hi again! As a medium brown gal myself, I think you'll really like how Love looks on your skin. And, it's so inexpensive, if you buy it and don't love it, you won't feel too bad about it! I'm an NC45 in MAC, if that helps you figure out my skintone.
