Favorite Things 2008!
It's that time of year again! I've been invited, once again, to share with you all my Favorite Things from the past year. Now, not all of these products were released in 2008, however, 2008 is the year I became aware of them and fell in love with them. I'll be adding a link to my previous review of each pick, so you can see my initial thoughts.
- MAC See-Thru Colour in Not So Shy. 2008 was the Year of the Lip Stain for me, so you will see several of them on this favorites list. This particular one is a bright fuschia gel and it is love.
-
MAC Cream Colour Base in Crushed Bougainvillea. Okay, I just lied. 2008 was the Year of the Lip and Cheek Stain. This past year, my normally uber-oily skin started having patches of dryness and I've had a great time finding more moisturizing products. Cheek stains are awesome. This one matches the above-mentioned See-Thru Colour and I almost always wear them together.
Givenchy Phenomen*Eyes Mascara. Although the wand looks like a prickly pear, this is awesome stuff. I'm not sure if it rocks so hard because of the mascara formula or the applicator, but damn, it's good.
Maybelline The Colossal Mascara. This has become my favorite everyday mascara. It is wonderfully volumizing and lenthening and my lashes look so sooty black. It is sexual chocolate, seriously. And you can buy it at your local drugstore. I mean, come on.
Three Custom Color Specialists Lipstick in Ballet Russe. Just the perfect lush, moisturizing red lipstick in a sheer formula, so it's fine for wearing out and about.
Three Custom Color Specialists Lip & Cheek Stain in Mom on the Go (Warm). I fell in love with 3 CC last year and have quite a bit of it in my makeup collection now. Their Lip & Cheek Stains are phenomenal multi-purpose products, for when you only have a little bit of time to make yourself look pretty. Mom on the Go is my current favorite, though I also love Ski Bunny.
Stila Cherry & Pomegranate Crush Stains. Once again, the lip and cheek stain makes an appearance. One great stain in two great colors. Who can ask for more?
Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Natural Lip Shine Gloss. Aside from the fact that the name of the product is ridiculously long, I can't get away from these glosses. They are magnificent - great colors, high shine, smooth but not greasy and for a great price.
Carol's Daughter Lemon Blossom Fragrance. I rocked this for months during the warmer part of the year and, all of a sudden, I'm in love with it again - I'm wearing it today! Perfectly light and fresh, with just a hint of tartness.
Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer. I never thought I'd be able to wear a tinted moisturizer, but with the added dryness this past year, I decided to go for it. And this one is perfect for me. In fact I'm wearing it today!
Honorable Mention:
MAC Tendertone Lip Balms
MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
NYX Round Lipstick
MAC Moisturelush Eye Cream
