My friend, Julia Coney, owner and writer of "All About the Pretty", was interviewed by a writer for The Washington Post about the new options in hair relaxers. Because she's ultra cool, she also introduced me to the writer, who interviewed me about my thoughts on relaxers and why I decided that natural was best for me. Give it a look! I am so excited to be quoted!

congratulations!!!
going natural was the best decision for me too!!
I was such an advocate at the beginning but quickly learned to let the others do what they want

Hi Amina! Thanks!
Yeah, I've learned that's the best thing - allow people to do what they want without guilting them into anything or acting self-important or self-righteous. If folks ask why I decided to go natural, I tell them and I have no problem sharing facts, but everyone should get to make her own decision regarding her hair.

Hey Toya,
I read the post and I'm so happy for you to to be mentioned!! Fantastic for both you and Julia.
I'm glad you stood up for your own decisions and actions. Hair seem to be such a big thing amongst us girlies. I've had tons of chemicals dumped to my hair which leaves them completely ruined and at the end of the day, i'm leaving mine au naturel. Loving it for what I was born with!

Hey! Thanks so much for reading!
Yeah, I'm not against one doing what she wants with her hair, I just want us all to be informed. I have colored my hair since I stopped relaxing and may even do so again, but I'm never going back to the relaxer. Never. It did so much damage and really? I never liked it. I hated the way my hair looked bone straight and I hated the ordeal of getting my hair relaxed. So why do something I don't enjoy to achieve a result I don't even like? It's pointless.

Miss T! My colleague happened to have the section today at lunch. Would you like the clipping of the page you are on? Unfortunately she clipped through the front page part of the article, but your section is whole on another page.

Hey Nora! I bought myself a copy of the Post so that I could have it in print, but I'd love another one!
