Three Custom Color Specialists' Marry Me Collection

 

Dum, dum, duh, dum!  The season for weddings is upon us!  I remember, as a little girl, how many times I played "bride" and how much I thought of my wedding day.  It is the chance to be a pretty, pretty princess and be the center of attention, which was the dream of my young heart (and still, is, really).  As a makeup artist, I've had the fortune of beautifying quite a few brides for their Big Day.  What I've found is that almost all of them say they want to look their best on that day - like themselves, only prettier than usual.  Natural beauty is in!  What better way to look your naturally bridely beautiful best than through using one of my favorite products - the lip/cheek stain?  And, of those stains, my faves are Three Custom Color's Lip/Cheek Stains. They have come out with a new one called "Marry Me" in both cool and warm options.  The Marry Me Lip/Cheek Stain is part of an entire "Marry Me" collection which also includes lip liner and lip gloss.  I love it.  It gives a wonderful pop of red to the lips and cheeks, which, when paired with a bronzer, a lined eye and some banging mascara, will have you looking elegant, classy and sex-ay!  And what bride wouldn't want that?

Beauty news: Serena Williams announces her new beauty line

Serena Williams has announced her very own beauty line - MISSION Skincare.  On July 23rd and 24th, Serena, a MISSION Skincare co-founder, will appear on HSN to launch the new line, the complete name of which is MISSION Skincare Active-Beauty Line: Featuring Serena Williams. 

The signature product is the Oxygen-Active Daily Facial Cleanser.  It also includes: Honey Sugar Sugar Body Scrub, Honey Sugar Restorative Body Butter, and Lip Balmer SPF 15 in Pomegranate and Pink Lemonade.  The line has been developed with Dr. Bryan Adams, Chairman for the American Academy of Dermatology, which seems to bode well for the product line.

The Body Shop Hot Brights Lip Shine/Cheek Stain

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again: lip and cheek stains are my favorite things.  They are so awesome for multi-tasking when you don't have more than five minutes to spare, but still want to do some prettifying!  Here's another one I've added to my arsenal: The Body Shop Hot Brights Lip Shine/Cheek Stain, specifically in Shade 01 Pink.

Lipstick Queen Medieval

 Ever since I found out about Lipstick Queen Medieval, I was chomping at the bit to get it.  A lip stain that was created by the Lipstick Queen - modeled after medieval women's habit of using lemon juice to stain their lips a just bitten red.  Ahh, it sounded heavenly!

LAVANILA The Healthy Lip Shine in Vanilla Lavender

 LAVANILA The Healthy Lip Shine "uses 100% pure apricot, jojoba, and sunflower oil" to achieve the shine that we desire in a lip gloss.  I bought this because my three favorite scents are vanilla, rose, and lavender and there was no way I could pass up something combining two of the three (I also bought the Vanilla Lavender fragrance).  While I absolutely love the fragrance and encourage all vanilla and/or lavender lovers to get it, I can't say the same for The Healthy Lip Shine. 

There's nothing awful about The Healthy Lip Shine, but there's nothing great about it, either.  It goes on nice and smoothly and the scent is lovely.  But, while the shine is fine, it doesn't last long at all.  The shine, in fact, the gloss itself, is gone within half an hour,  I'd say.  If you really wanted to buy this gloss, you'd have to be prepared to go through it quickly because you'd be applying it eleventy times a day!

MAC's Naked Honey collection has me salivating and I've only tried one of the products!  My loves/lemmings in bold.

MAC Style Warrior

 

The MAC Style Warrior collection is hot as fire!  Look at that packaging!  I am in love with animal prints, so having makeup in my purse covered in animal print makes me unbelievably happy.  My loves/lemmings will be in bold!

Make Up For Ever Glossy Full Couleur

 I've seen a lot of mentions of Make Up For Ever Glossy Full Couleur in the makeup and fashion mags of late.  Of course, you know that means I had to give it a try! 

So, what do I think of it?

Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon

 I really like the new Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon.  They offer great, creamy color and are the cutest little convenient thing to keep in your purse.  I like to layer gloss over them, but if you're a lipstick wearer, you'll be happy with the coverage.  The only thing I don't love is the smell - it's powerfully minty.  But if you're a mint-scent lover, you'll be good to go with these.
