Talk to me about Vibrating Mascaras!

 
Okay, I admit it.  I may be the only beauty blogger worth her salt who has yet to try any of the what seems like eleventy billion vibrating mascaras now on the market.  I have heard some raves and some mehs, but I have not tried them myself.  Sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of pointing a vibrating implement at my eye.  Now, other places ... well, ahem.  That's neither here nor there.

So, Talk To Me!  Tell me if I should try vibrating mascaras.  Why or why not?

So, now that the summer is coming to a close, I've been thinking a lot about the products that I've used the most this season.  I've been using bunches of bronzers, of course, mostly MAC Bronzer in Refined Deeper Bronze and Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Deep.  For cheeks, I've been loving fabulously saturated corals/peaches, pinks and reds, mostly Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot, Clementine, and Peony; MAC blush in Fleur Power; MAC Mineralize blush in Merrily; NARS blush in Exhibit A, Taos, Crazed and Mounia.  Great blush/bronzer duos or multi-use products like NARS blush/bronzer in Sin/Laguna, Laura Mercier blush/bronzer duo in Pink Bronze, Smashbox Desert Chic Fusion in Heatwave.  My favorite mascara of the summer has been Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express.  Favorite shadows are my trusty old MAC Paint Pots, primarily in Rubenesque, Indianwood and Perky.  And of course, who can forget lip gloss?  My favorite lip glosses this summer have been Rimmel Volume Boost gloss and the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Lip Gloss.

And now, as I look forward to Fall, I can't wait to wear all the new fall collections!  I am particularly looking forward to MAC's Cult of Cherry collection, which appeals to my inner goth and gives me an excuse to rock a dark, vampy lip.

What makes you feel your most beautiful?

Folks may be surprised to find that I feel my most beautiful right after I have cleaned my face for the night - I'm wearing not a stitch of makeup, but my skin looks radiant from being cleansed, toned and moisturized.  I look natural and fresh.  I love it.

So, what makes you feel your most beautiful?  Talk to me!

Do you match your makeup to your outfit?

I must admit that I do.  I know that this is considered passé and even tacky by some, but I think it's fun!  To me, makeup is supposed to be fun and why would it come in all those pretty colors if you weren't supposed to mix and match??  Nine times out of 10, I match my eyeshadow to my clothes.

Lately, I've been obsessed with nude lips!  I have searched several brands for their best nudes.  Bobbi Brown's latest Nude Collection offers great options, as does MAC's N Collection.  Now I'm into NARS' Honolulu Honey and Belle Du Jour.  Nude lips are my "thing" right now!

What make-up or beauty item do you use every day?

So, talk to me: What make-up or beauty item do you find yourself reaching for every day?

I'm not a loyalist.  For me, one of the most fun things about make-up is that there's so much of it!  There are so many different brands, products and colors to try!  So many ways to achieve the same goal with different things.  It's way too much fun trying everything to stick to any one thing.  But even a beauty player like me knows when I've found a gem and should hold on tight to it.  So, I find myself reaching for a M.A.C. Paint Pot almost every day.  And while I have them in just about every color, I reach for Rubenesque the most.  It's the perfect shade - a mix of peach, pink and bronze that's just fab.  It's like Orgasm for eyes - only better.  It looks great alone with just a touch of liner and mascara to give me a finished, glowy look, or it's a wonderful base for any powdered shadows I may decide to layer on top.  It's my favorite thing right now.
