Hotter than Hell: Alexander Skarsgard

Okay, this should not come as a shock to y'all.  I love me some vampires.  Yes, I do.  And yes, I know they're fictional characters, people.  Don't feel that you have to flood the comments or my e-mail box with how Jean-Claude and Asher and Lestat and Louis don't actually exist.  I know.  It would just be nice if they did, is all I'm saying.

So, of course, since I love vampires, I am a fan of True Blood (the show, haven't read the books yet, but I plan to).  However, I can't say that I love Vampire Bill.  I find him patently unsexy in every way, including that ridiculous accent.  I don't know many people from Louisiana, but I know none of them sound like that.  Maybe they did during the Civil War?  But how the heck would they have researched that?  No, I'm going with Stephen Moyer is doing his best impression of what he thinks a Civil War era Louisianan would have sounded like and it is not.good.  You know what is good, though?  The glorious face of one Alexander Skarsgard, known to True Blood fans as Eric.

Hotter than Hell Flashback: Brian Bloom

When I was a little girl, my grandmother, Mary, would make me watch soap operas with her after school.  She only watched CBS soaps: The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and Guiding Light.  Watching soaps with her grandma is probably a really weird thing for a kid to be doing, but I learned to enjoy it way more than going outside and running up and down the street like the other kids (Ew - sweaty!).  Eventually, I got just as wrapped up in the lives of Victor, Nikki, Ashley, Brooke, Ridge, Lily, Holden, Reva and Josh as Grandma was (and still is).  Even now, I like to look in on them from time-to-time.

It was during these sessions of soap watching that I met Brian Bloom, most popularly known as "Dusty."

Hotter than Hell: Henry Cavill

Henry cavill Henry Cavill is an exceedingly pretty man.  You can tell that much by this picture.  What you cannot tell is how damn hot and tongue-blisteringly lickable he is.  Allow me to show you:

Hotter than Hell: Maurice Benard

Mauricebenard I have been in love with Maurice Benard since the fall of 1995.  It was then that I met Meloni.  And it was then that she introduced me to "Sonny", in the personage of one Mr. Maurice Benard.

Michael Corinthos, Jr., or, as he is most popularly known, Sonny, is the best character that the writers of General Hospital have ever created.  The mobster with a heart of gold.  The loving father and (sometimes dedicated) husband.  The loyal friend.  The brooding, bipolar walking sex in a suit.  And Maurice has killed his portrayal of Sonny.  His commitment to the character is awesome.

Hotter than Hell: Tyson Beckford

Tyson suit I have been in love with this man since at least high school.  It has to be a good 15 years or more.  I had good taste as a young girl, did I not?

Hotter than Hell: Ryan Seacrest

I guess today is the day of the blondies.

Ryan seacrest

My love for Ryan Seacrest is inexplicable.  He's blonde (sometimes), which isn't usually my thing.  He's cheesy beyond belief (okay, sometimes I am down with the cheese - I'll admit).  He has huge teeth.  Yet, I love him so very much.

Hotter than Hell: Ian Somerhalder

Ian somerholder

Okay, this one is new to me.  His name is Ian Somerhalder and apparently he was on the first season of Lost, where he was subsequently killed off.  I do not watch Lost.  However, if I had known there was scrumptiousness like this on the island, I would have, at least, watched Season One.

Hotter than Hell: Idris Elba

Idris elba 2

If you've never watched "The Wire", you may not be quite familiar with the brooding hotness that is Idris Elba.  You would do well to familiarize yourself, and quickly.  This man ain't nothin' nice, do you hear me?

Idris as stringer 2  Idris' character, Stringer Bell, was the epitome of the educated thug - a serious, hardcore drug dealer and ruthless killer, with the mind of a scholar.  Every moment he was onscreen smoldered with intensity and hotness.  He terrified and thrilled me, simultaneously.  As a B'More chick, born and bred, I have met his like in real life, but none have ever done it as smoothly as this dude right here and he's not really a drug dealer - he just played one on TV!

Now, he has moved on to "The Office", one of my favorite shows.

Hotter than Hell: Adam Lambert

Adam lambert real I know this week's choice is a polarizing figure, but whatever, y'all!   I love him and that's that.  This post will include bits from a post from my "Makeda" blog because I have been loving him since the beginning, so I'd already written about how in love with him I am and why.

I have developed a ridiculous-sized crush on Adam.  It is of massive proportions.  He is dirty hot.

What is it that I love about him?  It's the blue black emo hair.  The painted fingernails.  The 82 bajillion necklaces.  The rings on sundry fingers.  The Depp-like amounts of guyliner.  It is the constant leering through the camera that should have reached Constantine levels of smarm and ick, but somehow managed to avoid it.  It is the fact that the sheer power of his voice could blast the hats off of people in the nosebleed seats.  But mostly, it is because this fool's eyes make me feel some kind of way. And it's this:
