Many women of color may avoid mineral makeup because of a worry that they will not find suitable colors or that they will wind up looking ashen. I was one of those women until a couple of years ago, when I realized that I could not continue to ignore the mineral makeup craze. I have tried several different brands and have found that most are trying to expand their offerings so that they can satisfy the customer of color.
One of the companies that is trying hard to expand is BareEscentuals, the #1 mineral makeup brand in the United States. I am happy with the direction the company is going. I got a recent e-mail notifying me that the foundation shades have been updated to include several new shades to accommodate women of color. (In case you're interested, my shade is Warm Tan.) BE has a great bronzer for brown girls - Warm Radiance. BE's Warm Radiance is a gorgeous gold. When dusted over a blush, it gives a vibrantly healthy and glowing effect to the skin. It's not full of chunks of glitter, so it's not too much for daytime. You look like you've been dipped in gold. I love it.
You can get BE Warm Radiance at your local Sephora or you can order it online from BareEscentuals.com.
I too can appreciate BareEscentuals expanding their mineral makeup brand being #1 in the market. I do hate that it was seemingly an afterthought.
I am a brown girl who OFTEN experiences makeup counter drama. To be honest many Asian, hispanic, African, multi-racial and Arabic women all have similar issues.
Would you try Valana Minerals and report on them? I had to call their customer service overwhelmed with the foundation color selection they had for ME. I was shocked!! It was a problem I have NEVER had. My option had always been to head to the end of the color spectrum (Dark, Deep, Cocoa, etc.) with other cosmetics-- and it STILL wasn't right!

I have started using mineral makeup very recently and I found out it's the recent trend in cosmetics industry now a day.
